SPINE CARE

Don’t let neck or back pain rule your life!

At THEORY Physical Therapy, we have advanced training in McKenzie Method, an evaluation technique based on the principles of Robin McKenzie.

LOW BACK AND NECK PAIN

Low back and neck pain are common conditions that affect individuals at some point in their lives, often interfering with daily activities and a good night's sleep. These issues can be attributed to factors like poor posture. Some diagnoses of back and neck pain encompass conditions such as arthritis, bulging discs, and disc herniation, which can lead to symptoms radiating down the legs or arms, commonly referred to as radiculopathy.

Frequent causes of low back and neck pain involve repetitive movements, prolonged periods of specific positioning, or overuse that can strain the ligaments, muscles, and other soft tissues around the spine. The body often provides warning signs in the form of mild aches before any serious damage occurs. If these symptoms progress into the legs or arms or become constant, it is often an indication that damage to the surrounding tissues has occurred.

At THEORY Physical Therapy, we spend the time to understand the source of where your pain stems from. This is often mechanical in nature where movements and positions generally cause and increase the level of pain.

  • Do you experience discomfort while gardening?
  • Do you feel pain after a cough or sneeze?
  • Does your pain intensify when driving or sitting?
  • Can you get through a restful night sleep?
  • Is standing or walking for long periods of time uncomfortable?
  • Does reading a book or scrolling through a mobile device cause discomfort?

Our therapist will assess the source of your pain and arm you with best practices to prevent the pain from reoccurring.
